Payment Management via Terminal

This guide describes how to manage transactions on terminals.

Introduction

The terminal provides basic transaction management capabilities through its interface. The following operations are supported if enabled on the device:

  • Transaction viewing / status confirmation
  • Refunding transactions, including multiple partial refunds.
  • Capturing authorized transactions, if created using the pre-auth functionality.
  • Cancelling authorized transactions, if created using the pre-auth functionality.
  • Re-printing receipts

Transactions can only be managed that were initiated / performed using the same terminal device. This means that it is not possible to view or change transactions that have not been created by the payment terminal, or have not been completed by the payment terminal.

Supervisor PIN

The supervisor PIN is used to protect the transaction management section in the case the terminal is operated by multiple staff members. Due to the sensitive nature of the operations that can be performed in this screen, this section is protected by a PIN set by the administrator.

Upon accessing the protected section, the Supervisor PIN is prompted to the user:

Transaction list

After the Supervisor PIN has been entered, the transaction list is displayed. The transaction list shows the transactions that have occurred on the device, with the latest transaction listed on the top. The order number ID is also shown to ensure the transaction can be correlated with evidence (eg. receipt).
